Susan Lange recently posted this question:
I have boxes full of pictures that are still in the envelopes. (Remember those? Old school film developing!!)
I am overwhelmed by the magnitude of this project. How can I tackle it?
Hi Susan,
Yeah, organizing photos is a biggie.
Start by breaking the project down into smaller steps:
• purchase some archival photo storage boxes (find them at The Container Store)
• grab a chunk of photos
• spread them out on a large surface
• categorize them
• sort them
• purge any “not-so-greats”
• label the tab card that comes with storage box with event and date
• file the photos back in the box
• place negatives behind its respective photos
Repeat these steps (over time) until all photos are filed in boxes.
Consider scanning in all these keepers. You can do it yourself or you can have professionals do this project. They will scan all your photos to a CD or DVD. You can check out Zeff Photo in Belmont. Definitely tell them that The Organizing Diva sent you!
Good luck my friend,
